In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the butter, egg, and milk.
Add the wet mix to the flour mix and whisk to combine. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes, then heat a waffle iron and, using 1 cup of batter, cook the waffles one at a time. You should get about 3 waffles.
