Before I had a kid I thought traveling-with-kid would be so hard/too much work, and really I never ever imagined living this life and with the particular - and wonderful - people I do. I guess I thought I'd be firmly ensconced in Northern California, as I was for so many happy years. And don't get me wrong - it's not exactly easy to take plane trips with toddlers (or babies) and you definitely have to think and plan more thoroughly than when it's just you. And yet, I see S having so much fun exploring (a real city! Bliss!) and seeing and learning, and it's so much fun to be there with her while she does so. I could not have predicted I'd be living this life, but today it felt like it's exactly what we're supposed to be doing (if that makes sense). Or maybe it's that Istanbul is a pretty great place and I'm on a sugar high from all the Turkish Delight I ate today. Either way.
